Shukr Qurbani: A Unique Way to Express Gratitude to Allah

In moments when we attain a cherished goal or when something good graces our lives, like most people, we find ourselves overjoyed. However, we often overlook expressing our gratitude to Allah. With this article, Care Association aims to make these special moments more meaningful by providing detailed information about Shukr Qurbani.

What is Shukr Qurbani?

Shukr Qurbani is a specific sacrifice made to Allah when we are bestowed with a blessing or favorable turn of events. Unlike votive sacrifices, everyone, including the person who offers the Qurbani, can benefit from its meat. This allows you not only to express your gratitude to Allah but also to help those in need.

When and How to Offer?

There is no specific time frame for offering a Shukr Qurbani. It can be done any day, at any time. If you choose to carry out the sacrifice yourself, it is considered most commendable. However, if you are unable to do so, Care Association can perform the Qurbani on your behalf and send you the visuals via SMS. For more details, you can call us at 0212 471 08 08.

What Are the Conditions?

The person offering Shukr Qurbani should be of age, mentally sound, and financially capable of making the sacrifice. Additionally, the animal to be sacrificed must meet the criteria for sacrifice and the act must be initiated with the utterance of the Bismillah.

What is the Difference Between Shukr Qurbani and Votive Sacrifice?

The main difference between the two types of sacrifices is that a votive sacrifice requires a specific vow or "pledge," while Shukr Qurbani does not. Also, the person who offers a votive sacrifice and their close relatives cannot eat its meat, whereas this is not the case for Shukr Qurbani.
