Hopes Rise After Ceasefire in Gaza

In Gaza, the bleeding wound of the Middle East, humanitarian aid efforts have gained momentum following the ceasefire achieved on January 19. The dedicated efforts of Çare Association on the ground serve as a beacon of hope for civilians caught under bombardment. Efforts to restore normalcy in the Gaza Strip continue after the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which has brought life back to local markets in Gaza.

Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Since October 7, 2023, the number of Palestinian fatalities in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip has reached 47,161 (as of January 23, 2025) due to ongoing conflict. As part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, 630 aid trucks have entered the region, which is crucial for the 2.3 million Gazans living under blockade. For the people of Gaza, who are beginning to ask, “Is the war in Gaza truly over?” these aid efforts provide a vital lifeline.

What Has Çare Association Done Since October 7?

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has necessitated multifaceted aid efforts for civilians most affected by the conflict. Çare Association has continued its mission of hope, providing food, hot meals, and clean water to those devastated by the war. The organization’s relief activities demonstrate the critical importance of humanitarian aid during these times.

Daily Hot Meal Campaign

Our soup kitchen in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood has delivered over 190,000 hot meals to our brothers and sisters, even during the harshest days of bombardment. With the support of our donors, we prepared and distributed 1,250 food packages to those in need. These aid efforts, reaching different parts of the Gaza Strip, have reminded the Palestinian people that they are not alone and have strengthened the spirit of solidarity.

Fighting for Clean Water in Gaza

With Gaza’s infrastructure completely destroyed, access to clean water has become a luxury. As Çare Association, we have provided clean water to over 7,450 of our brothers and sisters. Recognizing that water is not just a need but a source of life, we also distributed hygiene supplies to help prevent the spread of diseases. These efforts have become a cornerstone for survival for families in Gaza.

Providing Hope Through Orphan Sponsorship

We extended our arms to the most innocent victims of war: orphans. We provided winter clothing for 500 orphaned children and began offering regular support to more than 145 orphans. Monthly financial aid continues to cover food, shelter, healthcare, and educational needs for orphans staying with their relatives. Additionally, special programs organized during the Mawlid al-Nabi week brought smiles to the faces of our children.

We Did Not Forget Gazans Living in Türkiye

The bridges of affection we built with Gazan students studying in Türkiye continue to flourish. We met with our students in Kütahya, shared meals, and strengthened our bonds. We also reached out to the families of some of these students in Gaza, delivering their children’s messages and showing our solidarity.

International Collaborations

In addition to the aid we have provided to Gaza since October 7, we have worked side by side with AFAD and the Turkish Red Crescent. We contributed food supplies to aid ships departing from Mersin Port, offering hope to our brothers and sisters.
